1. have you ever wonder why there're 10 commandments and 12 apostles but not 11 or 13? because 10 and 12 sounds official, and is psychologically covincing and satisfying, whereas in jewish cultures, 12 symbolises fulfilment. there comes a series of questions: why the fucking hell should god be influenced by jewish culture? and why the fucking hell was no one around when moses wrote them up on a piece of stone? there seemed to be some sort of human factor in the 10 commandments, dont' you think?this gives me an impression that the 10 sacred commentments actually originated from man but not god himself. indeed, poeple in the ancient times are very easy to manipulate. and most important of all, 10 is the smallest postivie integer which congrenets to 0 (mod10) (lol)

2. if there's a god, he must be a guy. why? cos he always fuck things up. (cock joke)look at the recent earthquakes, thousands of innocent lives have been lost, and god either doens't have the power to stop the earthquakes, or he doesn't give a shit. if god doesn't give a shit about us, i'd rather worship the sun. our god is cruel.

3. the most important commandment of all:
KEEP THY RELIGION TO THYSELF.
why making religious studies a compulsory subject in our school curriculum and feed us bullshit?
these fingers (to school teachers) will go up you lousy asses if you don't remove it from the secondary curriculum.

4. according to the holy bible, god is the sole creator the universe. if this is true, god must have also created evil as well. however, this contradicts to the fact that 'god created us in his image so that we all can apperiate his divine creations' (Genesis). what's the fucking point anyway? instead of seeing the coming of the kingdom of god, we see the coming of the kingdom of satan.(crime, corruption, torture, kill, racial discrimination, etc.) and that's not my definition of 'perfection'.

5. according to the gospel of mark, god is merciful and shows his love to people from all nations. and yet, he punishes us for our sins. that's another contradiction. he loves us and and he sends us all to hell. makes fuck-all sense to me.

6. exagerated claims and beliefs is one of the most powerful elements in the new testament which attracts people to join chrianity to testify their faith, this ultimately gives rise to the development of the early church. fortunately, thanks to modern day science, we all know that 'the cases of demonic possessions that were documented in the bible' are examples of neurological disfunction.
note that our knowledge of the world around us is limited. just because we haven't found viable explanations to some medical phenomoa doesn't imply that there're no explantions to the 'miracles'.

7. why do people believe in personal god? because a) they want to find a cause to the universe. if god is the creator of the universe, who created god? based on this thoery, there must be an infinite number of gods, which makes no sense at all.
on the other hand, if people believe that there is no cause to god, they must also believe that there is no cause to the universe.
b) they want to find a way to escape the reality, and they aren't strong enough to deal with their shit. religion provides shelter for pessimistic people, because religion gives them source of comfort.
examples:
we don't die, we enter the kingdom of god.
we shouldn't rely on money, but on god's provision. (a wonderful excuse why poor people shouldn't make a difference to their pathetic lives)
everything has been set by god. we can't change our destiny. (kill yourself then, cos there's no point living. we're just part of the program.)
c) they have a low IQ. they use 'circular reasoning' to explain things around us, and make invalid conlusions based on assumptions that are yet to be proven. why? because their brain shrinks due to prolong exposure to religion!
God exist => because the bible say so!
i created the universe => because my essay say so!

just recently i noticed that there had been an increasing trend of inexperienced users leaving abusive reviews on entries, and so far little administrative actions (i.e review ban) has been taken against those irresponsible users as a result of their abuse. (such as hardybozy) if you natvigate yourself to the very last pages of the portal list, you might come across with tons of bad reviews which were intended to be insulting or generally not helpful. each of them are being abusive in its own way, and a majority of those reviews were being flagged repeatedly. but the sad truth is, little attention has been paid and reviwe mods don't even bother delteing those reviews. those comments remain on NG for months, serving as a bad example for newbies who failed to observe the general rules and regulations imposed by the authority, leaving a black spot on NG which grows darker and more conspicious by the moment as users continue to flood the site with various kinds of insults. for some reasons, users have started to make a habit of leaving bad reviews (probaly being inspired by other members) regradless to the quality of the submissions they're reviewing on, and most of its ratings do not reflect the actual qualty of those entries. over the months, it seems that NG has developed a subculture which users were actually being encouraged to adopt these vice, signifying the sudden decline of the domance of the whistle system. after reading countless number of shitty reviews, i began to have doubts. what about the review mods? theire job is to keep the flash portal free from abusive contents. and obviously they have failed their 'mission'. and what about the whistle system? it's been here for nothing as mods aren't really doing a good job at monitoring the site. the entire system is more fucked up then that in the past, and that's not what i'm expecting of.

on the other hand, there had been many occasions where good reviews being deleted from the site for nothing. although those reviews are negative, but they didn't really break the rules. most of the time when people gives a submission a big flat zero, they can often justify themselves and give good reasons for doing so. and yet they got removed (including some of my reviews). and we only allowed to say things the author would like to hear? are we not allowed to have different opinions than others? if so, what's the point of reviewing? please note that the purpose of revewing on a submission is to allow authors to know what viewers actually think about the particualr entry and allows author to find out how they can improve. different viewpoints should be considered, and different opinions should be treated equally (let it be postive or negative). a decent flash rewvie is very different from a greeting card. you can't just give them some postive feedback all the time, saying things like 'this is the best thing i've ever seen' without any obserable reasons. sometimes you need to be harsh on the authors if the submission is plain shit. keep in mind that we shouldn't prasie them for nothing. leaving negative (and yet consturive reviews) are esstential for authors to improve their skills. you are actually doing the opposite if you just give them complements without anything else. and i see no reasons for deleting negative reviews which were meant to be helpful to the author.

another problem i would like to point out is that, differnet modertors have diferent standards. although having a large number of review mods really helps them moderate thiongs better. but each of them have different perception of what a 'abusive review' means to be like. for instance, someof the members from the moderating team might find a review inappropiate and delete them on sight, while others might think that the particualr review is clean and leave it untouched. in view of this, i strongly recommend NG staff members to add in a deatiled and specific definition of the term 'abusive reviews'. it will be helpful for moderators to decide whether a review should be condidered 'inapproiate' if NG staff could also provide different samples of portal reviews which have recently been deleted from the site, so that mods can have wasy reference. in this way, they have a betterand fairer judgement as to decide whter a flagged review should be remvoed. also, if possible, a new review system should be implemented in the future. there should be a list of all reviews which have received a certain number of flags for moderators. reviews subjected to deletion should be viewed by at least two moderators, and that it can only be successfully deleted under the approval from two seperate moderators. this ensures a more unbiased decision from moderators. and hopefully this system might be able to solve the problem decribed by some other members in the forum. more review mods should be appointed, and they should be encouraged to make refernece to the 'abusive review' thread for indentifying other inappropiate reviews which go unnoticed by review mods.

if you're trying to vote 0 on crappy entries just for the sake of showing your disapproval, don't bother trying cos most likely your vote will have minial effect on their scores. you're wasting your time.

possible reasons:
1. the submission your trying to vote low on already has a large number of votes. therefore your vote is insignificant on avreage.
2. your have a low voting power.
3. the submission has a score comparable to your current vote. for example, each time you vote 0 on a submission, you might notice that there's hardly any change in its ratings regardless to the number of votes it has received if its score is close to 0. and the same rule applies to any other situations.

if you're trying to make yourself heard, you can either vote 5 on crappy entries, or you can flag some friends to vote for you and start gaining extra voting power everyday.
